Orange & Whipped Cream Hot Chocolate

Decadent hot chocolate made with whole milk, the warming, citrus tang of orange, a generous topping of whipped cream and your choice of topping – this is just what the colder winter evenings is made for. Enjoy with a nice, buttery shortbread and good company.

 

Ingredients

Serves 4

4 tbsp Cartwright & Butler Orange Chocolate Pearls

800ml whole milk

150ml double cream

 

To prepare

  1. 1. Whip the double cream until it forms small peaks and set aside
  2. 2. Add the chocolate and milk to a pan and heat on a low to medium heat. We recommend using a hand blender to ensure all the ingredients are mixed together, but a hand whisk will suffice
  3. 3. Once the chocolate is melted and the hot chocolate has reached the desired temperature, pour into 4 mugs and spoon dollops of whipped cream onto the top of each

 

Garnish with a cinnamon stick or star anise, with small pieces of fudge, marshmallow or orange peel curls and with some of the orange chocolate pearls.
